“The Tick-Borne Disease Working Group was established by Congress in 2016 as part of the 21st Century Cures Act to provide subject matter expertise and to review federal efforts related to all tick-borne diseases, to help ensure interagency coordination and minimize overlap, and to examine research priorities.  The Working Group is required to submit a report every two years, starting in December 2018.” – Dr Richard Horowitz

On Monday, December 11th, 2017 our founder Olivia was invited to speak in front of the newly formed Health and Human Services Tick-Born Disease Working Group (https://www.hhs.gov/ash/advisory-committees/tickbornedisease/index.html), with the hope to shine a light on being misdiagnosed & living with chronic Lyme.  We are very proud of Olivia and her courageous speech about being misdiagnosed by 50 doctors.

“I had a great day at the Tickborne Disease Working Group meeting in DC, with Dr. Richard Horowitz. I met some amazing “Lyme Warriors” & NatCapLyme who helps Lyme patients.  I think this a good start to helping the Lyme community with better treatment & establishing better guidelines.” – Olivia Goodreau
